Lexus Hybrid 2012

Lexus Hybrid 2012

Due to the constant rise in fossil fuel prices, hybrid cars are getting more and more popular these days. A hybrid vehicle uses the combination of the traditional internal combustion engine propulsion system with an electric propulsion system. The result of this combination is a vehicle with better fuel economy and even better performance compared to conventional vehicles. Hybrid vehicles exist in the form of hybrid cars, trucks, as well as buses.

Lexus is one of the several car brands that have implemented this green technology into their cars. Lexus is a luxury vehicle division of the Toyota Motor Corporation, which happens to be the world's largest car manufacturer. The first Lexus hybrid car was introduced in the year 2004. Ever since, this marque has committed to produce more hybrid cars for the auto market. As a matter of fact, in 2009, Lexus sold more hybrid cars than conventional petroleum-based cars in the European market. Shortly after that, the company announced plans to become a hybrid-only brand in Europe.

According to Takeshi Uchiyamada, the Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Company, the company plans to release six new hybrid vehicles by the end of 2012: four under the Toyota brand, and the other two are from Lexus. The 40-mpg-plus 2012 Lexus CT 200h sporty compact hybrid is strongly predicted to be one of these two Lexus hybrids.

Lexus Hybrid 2012 - Features

First introduced in March 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show as the 2011 model year, the CT 200h is one of the latest petrol/electric hybrid cars from Lexus. The 2012 edition of the CT 200h, however, will not feature any major changes from its predecessor. This hybrid compact car is smaller than the other Lexus hybrid, the HS 250h. The 2012 CT 200h is classified as a 5-door compact hatchback with front engine, front wheel drive engine layout. It comes equipped with a 1.8 liter VVT-I 4-cylinder petrol engine, the same engine used by the highly popular mid-size hatchback Toyota Prius. This engine can generate up to 98 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. When combined with the electric generator of the hybrid rive system, both engines can produce 134 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. According to a study done in Australia, the 2012 CT 200h only consumes 4.1 liter for 100 km use. Imagine how much money you could save!

A driver can choose whether to drive the car with either one or the combination of the petrol/electric engine. Each option contributes to acceleration balance and fuel economy. This car does not require plug-in charging, because the electric engine recharges as the car moves. A driver can choose one of these four different powertrain modes: Normal mode for daily driving, Eco and Sport modes for high-economy, sporty driving, and EV mode which allows the car runs at 28 mph per 1 mile using electric power only.

The 2012 Toyota Camry: More Than Manufacturer Hype?

Camry lovers across the world agree that Toyota has been very complacent over the last few years when it comes to this model. It seems as if Toyota's darling, the Prius, was getting all of the attention and media buzz. You can't really blame the automotive editors or the consumers they serve; the company did very little to keep the Camry fresh or interesting to buyers. Of course, sales began to slip as you might expect. Buyers began to bail to the new Accord, Fusion, and Malibu, all of which offered significant updates in terms of both form and function. The 2012 Camry is sure to bring a few back to their brand of preference, however.
For 2012, Toyota thought that a complete overhaul was in order. They were right. The Camry L and LE are exactly what Toyota needed to give the American car market: a well-appointed, comfortable family sedan with fuel efficiency that tops 35 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city. That is very impressive fuel economy for a non-hybrid sedan of this size. Consumers might worry that luxury or performance were sacrificed to reach these EPA fuel ratings, but they needn't worry. Neither car is underpowered or under-appointed. If you want sporty, skip over the SE and head to the V6 XLE. The additional appointments and comfort mask a frisky six that makes it hard to stay within the legal speed limits.
The redesign did not stop with the gasoline only models. Toyota went for a revamp of the Camry Hybrid as well. In the past, the regenerative braking felt somewhat "out of body" and the sudden shifts from gasoline to electric could be too abrupt, shocking the driver. For 2012, Toyota has smoothed and refined these systems. The new model offers seamless changes from gas to electric without sacrificing the fuel efficiency for which you buy a hybrid in the first place. The old model offered 31 mpg around town and 35 mpg on the highway, while the new version gets 39 mpg on the open road and 43 mpg around town. The XLE falls a little short of that at 41/38 city/hwy mpg for the XLE model.
Hopefully, the new upgrades and styling will save the Camry from the fate of models that failed to stay current in our increasingly dynamic automotive marketplace. No one wants to see the Camry on the list of discontinued cars.

Best Toyota FJ Cruiser Features

The Toyota Motor Company makes some great SUV and off-road vehicles and the FJ Cruiser is one of the stars of that lineup. The car starts at a base price of $24,180 and offers some great features to potential buyers. There are three different varieties of the FJ Cruiser available which include a 2WD auto version and 4WD version available in both auto and manual. We have taken a look at these features and have chosen which ones we think stand out the most.
My favorite feature of the FJ Cruiser has got to be its unique styling. This car does not look like any other car on the road and I really think a lot of customers are drawn to this very unique look. The exterior is covered with a two tone paint job with the main body one color and the roof being colored white. With only two normal sized doors on the car it also has a very sporty look for a large car like this. The front and rear lights are unique as well as they protrude a great deal from the body of the car and offer some added styling to the overall look.
Another great feature is the water resistant seat that comes standard on all FJ Cruiser models. Having these water resistant seats is an excellent idea and almost a must on an outdoor off road vehicle like this. With these seats drivers and passengers won't have to worry when they are entering and leaving the vehicle during harsh weather conditions.

The STAR Safety System From Toyota Keeps You Safe in Hostile Conditions

Did you know that in spite of the recent recalls, Toyota cars still rate amongst the safest in the world?  Every Toyota car has special safety and security systems built into it, which help in keeping the occupants safe in the unfortunate event of an accident.  The best part of the deal is that Toyota does not charge anyone a single penny extra for these safety systems. The entire package of security systems, collectively called the STAR Safety Systems, is already available as standard features in every Toyota vehicle that rolls out of the production line.
So, what exactly is the STAR Safety System? Here's a closer look at the components of the package that goes into the safest cars in the world:
  1. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC): Have you ever been forced to drive on an icy road, fearing every moment that the tires would go into an uncontrollable skid and slide you off the road?  With a Toyota car, you have a good chance to prevent any skidding of your tires, even on slippery surfaces.  VSC automatically applies brake force to skidding wheels.  It also reduces the power that the engine is exerting on the wheels, increasing the chance that the car would stop quickly enough to keep the occupants safe and sound.
  2. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS): Ever had to brake suddenly in order to avoid a head an accident?  Then you would understand the requirement to have super strong brakes in a car that can stop all four wheels at the same time, bringing the car to an almost immediate halt.  That's what the ABS is for, stopping the tires from spinning, and also preventing any brake from 'locking up'.
  3. Brake Assist: When the ABS is not enough, Brake Assist automatically increases pressure on all the brakes, bringing the car to a standstill a lot sooner than what would be normally possible.
  4. Traction Control: Applying uniform brake force on all four wheels simultaneously is one of the best ways of gaining traction when sliding over a slippery road. Traction control does exactly that, and may actually save your life in some sticky (pun intended) situations.
  5. Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD): Did you know that sudden braking can actually lock up the rear wheels of your car, causing you to lose control over the vehicle in seconds? That's where the electronic brake-force distribution comes in handy, which performs the sole duty of bringing the rear wheels to a stop without allowing those to lock up.

The 20 Year History of the Toyota Motorhome

For almost 20 years various manufacturers made the Toyota motor home in several models. During its heyday, this little camper was produced in over 60 different models and styles of motor homes.
Beginning with the rather small Toyota Chinook camper and carrying on through the largest of the Toyota based Winnebago and Itasca models, the Toyota based motor home help to establish many manufacturers in the RV industry.
Because of the large number of manufacturers it is not uncommon to see similar campers and very different names. The small overall size had to limit the variety of floor plans available. This caused a lot of the manufacturers to build virtual duplicates that varied only in some of the fit and finish type of details.
It wasn't long until the manufacturers began to expand the size of the camper bodies. Using conventional manufacturing techniques found in the travel trailer industry, the stick and staple type of construction with aluminum siding became the standard.
In the decade of the 1980s production of the Toyota motor home peaked. Many different companies were producing many different models. Some of the larger companies that were in this business were national RV, the producers of the very popular Dolphin series. They also produced the Seabreeze models. At the same time Winnebago was producing the Brave, the Warrior, and the deluxe Itasca Spirit models.
Damen Corporation of Elkhart Indiana produce the Escaper motor home, while Coachman produced the popular Coachman and Savanna models. Leisure Odyssey was building the Americana, Santa Cruz, and the Laguna campers.
The Mini-Mirage was built by Mirage industries, while the still very popular SunRader was constructed with a fiberglass body by Gardener Pacific.
By the late 1980s the length of the camper body had expanded to 22 feet. This caused a severe overload problem on the original half ton pickup axle. A national safety recall was issued by the United States government to correct the problem. Most of the models were given a new one ton axle. However there are still a few units available today that have the unsafe axle. Caution is advised if you are looking at in 1980s version of this very popular camper.
In 1989 V6 appeared on the market in the Toyota chassis. This increased horse power became very popular with the camper owners and production continued until 1994 when Toyota stopped supplying the pickup chassis to the camper manufacturers for safety reasons. Winnebago produced some of the last V6 versions in 1994.
During its production lifetime, the Toyota motor home enjoyed a great popular success and was widely distributed across the country. Today the greatest number of units on the road seem to be concentrated on the east and west coast areas but these motor homes will turn up just about anywhere in the country.

Toyota Corolla Review

Toyota Corolla is a compact car that is manufactured by the ever so popular Japanese manufacturer, Toyota. The Corolla line was first introduced in the year 1966. In the year 1997, it became the best selling name plate in the world. More than thirty-five million Corolla's had been sold as of the year 2007. On average, one Toyota Corolla is sold every forty seconds. This is amazing for this car manufacturer.
Since the release of the Toyota Corolla, it has gone under many re-vamps as far as performance and design go. It will continue to advance in hopes it will continue to sell in great numbers. Toyota is well-known for consistently and continuously advancing the vehicles in which they manufacture.
The Corolla is manufactured not only in Japan, but also in the following countries as well: Brazil, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela. Previously, Corolla's were also being produced in Australia and the United States. However, those operations have since closed.
Over the years in which Corolla has been around, it has changed quite a bit. There have been many different styles. Also, many modifications have been made to this popular compact car. However, each new style with the added modifications is quite obviously still pleasing to customers as they continue to buy this excellent automobile. With Toyota being a leading manufacturer, it should be of no surprise how popular the Corolla's are.
When Toyota first came out with the Corolla, it had a more box-like look to it. However, over the years it has become more rounded and trendy looking. Toyota has always been one to keep up with the upcoming styles, so that is exactly what they have done with the Corolla.
Although Toyota has recently been under the microscope for the supposed problems that were occurring with the brake pedals, the accelerator pedals, and the steering wheel, the company continues to hold strong and produce high quality automobiles for the eager consumers were are wishing to have a quality, reliable car such as the Toyota Corolla.

Check Out The New 2012 Toyota Camry

For 2012 introduces a brand new Camry with excellent gas mileage and a stylish makeover exterior wise. One of Toyota most popular cars is by far the Camry. Sales figures bear that out. The car has been the top selling passenger car for 13 of the past 14 years. The Camry was introduced in 1983 and 15 million of them have been sold worldwide.
Toyota has decided to give the Camry a makeover which comes with new styling details, interior changes and more affordable prices. The company introduced the latest Camry with a Hollywood type unveiling at the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles as well as on the Internet and some other locations on Tuesday, August 23. It is said that the new Camry is very safe, has the best handling and is much better on gas than ever before.
Gas mileage for the new model will be around thirty five miles per gallon; that is coming pretty close to hybrid territory. The basic version is said to have a fuel economy rating of 35 mpg. The hybrid version is said to achieve an average of 41 miles a gallon. It is the first redesign of the sedan in five years. The car sports a sharper, more pointed hood, a quieter and roomier interior and more trunk space. Internet will be accessible thanks to the Entune system.
Consumers will be glad to know that the 2012 Toyota Camry will be available at an even lower price. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the four-cylinder Camry LE with automatic transmission is now $22,500; this is a two hundred dollar savings. The SE is priced at $23,000, which is about $1,000 less than the previous model.
Top top of the line XLE is $24,725, which is about $2,000 less than its previous model. The price of Camrys coming with six-cylinder engines will not change and manual transmission Camrys will not be offered because of low demand. The hybrid Camry has a starting price of $25,900 and the XLE version has an MSRP of $27,400.
The best year for the Camry in the U.S. was 2007 when 473,108 units were sold. However, through July of this year sales have been slipping. It has been reported that sales of the Camry dropped 7.8 percent from a year ago. Obviously, Toyota has to rock the auto industry and it hopes that its idea of introducing a new Camry among other models will shake things up in their favor.

The 2012 Toyota Prius Lineup

At the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, Toyota unveiled two all new Toyota Prius cars. One is called the Toyota Prius C. The other is called the Toyota Prius V.
Right now, both are concept cars. These are prototype vehicles meant to show off new technologies and new styling. According to a news release from Toyota, some form of the Toyota Prius C will hit the market sometime in 2012.
The Prius V should hit sometime late in 2011.
To help you get a taste for what is in store, here is what you need to know about the Toyota Prius C and the Prius V.
The 'C' Stands For City
The Toyota Prius C will be a city car for a young generation of drivers. It will be the third car in the Prius hybrid family. It will join the Prius (third generation) and the Prius V.
The Prius C will be a compact car made for city driving. Because of its small size, this hybrid car is expected to get excellent gas mileage.
The exterior of the vehicle has a similar styling to the current third generation Prius. However, the new vehicle has a smaller, streamlined look. At the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, the hybrid car featured a vibrant blue paint color and a sporty style of wheels.
The 'V' Stands For Versatility
The Prius V will be a larger, family oriented vehicle. According to the Toyota news release, the Prius V will have more leg room than the current third generation of Prius cars.
It will also feature 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. This would make it the most spacious hybrid car on the market. It probably would also rival some standard and hybrid sport utility vehicles.
The exterior of the vehicle would retain the standard Prius triangular shape. However, the car would feature improved aerodynamics as well as a refined backdoor panel.
According to the Toyota news release the Prius V would have the following specifications:
  • Length: 181.7
  • Width: 69.9
  • Height: 62.0
  • Wheelbase: 109.4
  • Wheels: 16-inch alloy, 17-inch allow (optional)
  • Engine: 1.8-liter four-cylinder
  • Horsepower: 98 hp
  • Drive System: Front wheel drive
  • Battery: Nickel metal hydride
Most importantly, the Prius V would features 42 miles per gallon for city driving and 38 miles per gallon for highway driving. Combined that is 40 miles per gallon.

A Quick Summary Of Toyota's New Hybrid Cars For 2012

Hybrid cars have been and continue to be a hot topic among the auto industry and for good reason.

They aren't as harmful to the environment as normal gas guzzlers, and they get a much higher mile to every gallon. The main issue consumers had with hybrid models is that they didn't have a large selection of cars to choose from.

Toyota is changing all that with six new Hybrid model cars planned by 2012. Check out what our predictions for the models that they will be choosing.

The Toyota Highlander is a favorite ride of many people, so when they came out with the Highlander Hybrid model a few years ago it got many people excited. Well, now they are creating a hybrid model of one its top selling SUV, the Rav4. By 2012 we will see an all electric version of the Rav4 that competes with the Ford Escape Hybrid and hopefully gives the 30 mpg the Escape currently gets a run for its money. Toyota developed this car with Tesla so perhaps it will have some of the same functionality as the Prius.

Toyota Sienna Hybridis what the minivan market has been looking for years to find and now Toyota delivers. The only question is: Will the Sienna come before the Honda Odyssey Hybrid, which is supposedly being released within the next few years? The family van market is a great niche to control and by the time the Sienna Hybrid is released, people will be extremely happy to see it.

The Toyota Yaris is currently being developed for the Japanese market, so bringing it overseas to the United States is not a far stretch. The Yaris was a top seller because people are starting to care more about the gas mileage their car gets, rather than how much horsepower it has and what it looks like. Many people are already calling the Yaris the "Prius Jr." which is a great car to be associated with.

A Toyota Corolla Hybrid just makes sense to us. In a market where hybrids aren't yet mainstream as many believe they should be, creating a Toyota Corolla Hybrid can be just what is needed to give hybrids that push into the forefront of car purchases. Creating a Corolla hybrid will put gas-electric technology directly in the heart of Toyota's brand.
